Covid-19 Safety Recommendations

2020 Season

Please adhere to the following recommendations so that we can have a complete and successful season!

  • Parents should monitor their family’s temperature the day of the practice/game. If anyone in the household has a temperature above 99.6 degrees, a cough, or other symptoms of the illness, they may not be at the fields.
  • We are suggesting two fans per child in order to keep crowd sizes down. Please spread out around the sidelines and outfield to maintain 6ft. from other households.
  • Athletes are not required to wear masks over their mouths/noses. Spectators are encouraged to wear masks according to state guidelines.
  • Players should hang their bags along the outside of the fence, or spread out on the grass where no fence is available.
    • Players should not all gather in the dugout. While on offense, the next three batters up to bat should get ready and may wait spread out in the dugout. The rest of the team should be spread out outside of the fence or on the grass by their bag. Athletes need to pay attention to foul balls!
  • All athletes must use only their own equipment, including their own helmet, bat, glove, and fielder’s mask (softball)
    • Catchers equipment that needs to be shared should be sprayed/wiped down between players
    • If a child cannot get their own bat/helmet, talk to their coach
    • Players must bring their own water: shared team water jugs are not allowed
    • We are eliminating postgame team snacks.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at each field for the players and coaches. Please use it as needed to reduce the spread of germs and encourage your players to use it!
  • No seeds, spitting, gum, or suckers are allowed
  • No shaking hands or high fives at the end of the game. Teams will line up on the baselines and tip their caps at the end of the game.
  • At their discretion, umpires can call the game from either behind the catcher or behind the pitcher’s mound/circle
  • Dogs/pets are never allowed on any Little League field
  • LSCLL Board Members are to help enforce these guidelines at the park. This season only happens if we all work together.
  • These guidelines will be reviewed by the Board frequently, and changed in accordance with State guidelines as the Board sees fit
